Boys’ Varsity Tennis

The Calumet New Tech Boys’ Tennis Team finished 4-2 in Conference play and 11-3 overall. Javy Lopez finished the regular season 14-0 and won the first round of sectionals before losing to Munster in round two of Sectionals. Javy Lopez and Daniel Nieto both earned 1st Team All-Conference, while Jose Becerra earned All -Conference Honorable

Boys’ Tennis Sectional

  Last night the warriors tennis team totally dominated the Griffith panthers to advance in the Munster sectional.   Daniel Nieto won easily 6-0, 6-1 at one singles.  Javy Lopez did not drop a game in what may have been his best played match of the year.   Jose Becerra won at three singles 6-0, 6-1 easily. 

Boys’ Tennis Still Going Strong

Last night, the boys tennis team improved on their season record to 11-3 as they beat Hammond Academy 4-1.  With last nights easy win, Javy Lopez is one match away from being undefeated on the season. Boys Tennis Continues To Dominate

The warriors tennis team continued their 2018 dominance by beating a good Hammond high squad last night.   Winning their matches were Daniel Nieto at 1 singles, at two singles and still undefeated on the season Javy Lopez, at three singles Jose Becerra, and the dynamic duo of Eric Koi/ Damien Bryant.   Congrats to the team


Last night the warriors tennis team pulled off a great win verses a good Andrean team.  With the match tied 2-2 it was all up to sophomore Jose Bercerra.   With all his teammates, coaches and Mrs. K cheering him on at the fence, Jose dug deep within himself and beat his 59er opponent.   Javy Lopez

The Warriors Tennis team fell to Hanover Central last night in a close fought match.  Though a tough loss for the team, Javy Lopez continued his undefeated streak on the season winning over a good Hanover player in straight sets.   Also, in a unbelievable comeback, number one singles Daniel Nieto beat Hanover’s 1 in three

Warriors Boys Tennis

Last night the Warriors Boys Tennis team improved to 7-2 on the season as they grounded the East Chicago Cardinals.  The three singles players Daniel Nieto, Javy Lopez and Jose Bercerra won easily nearly sweeping all their matches 6-0, 6-0.  The Warriors doubles teams of Eric Koi / David Johnson and Devonte Gore/ Aaron Washington also won their matches in straight sets.
