The boys cross country team traveled to Terre Haute, Indiana this past weekend to compete at Nike Cross Regionals which was held at the Lavern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course. This was a huge event with over 3,000 runners and some of the best runners in the Midwest.
Riley Reeder was our top finisher with a 172nd place finish in a time of 18:11. This was a 25 second season and career best for him. He was in the 300s most of the race until he kicked it in the last 400 meters and passed over 100 runners. La’Javon Thompson finished in 476th place with a time of 21:11. He was only 18 seconds from his season best despite battling a knee injury for the last several weeks. Noah Frazier finished in 492nd place in a time of 21:38. This was a 2 minute 22 second season and career best for him despite being in wrestling season currently. John Tobon-Perez finished in 508th place with a time of 21:59. This was an impressive effort despite being sick the last few weeks. William Negron finished in 509th place with a time of 22:00. William did not run a personal best but ran a very solid race to finish off his high school running career. Seth Hunt finished in 517th place with a time of 22:10. Seth was our only freshmen this year and the future is very promising for him. Darius Prude finished in 549th place with a time of 23:30. Darius improved a lot throughout the season and we are excited for what is yet to come. There were a total of 567 runners in our race.
Look for big things from these guys this winter and spring during track season. Go Warriors!!!
