On Senior Night, the Lady Warriors (4-4) started slowly and could never really find their way in a 61-43 loss to the visiting Lady Panthers of Griffith (4-1). Foul trouble and turnovers doomed the evening for the team. The poor shooting that had plagued the team over the past few games got a little better. The team was 18/47 shooting, for 38%. The problem was the 37 turnovers that did not allow shots to be taken. The free throw shooting was an issue, as the Lady Warriors managed only 6/ 17 from the free throw line. The free throws fell for the Lady Panthers, however, as they hit 23 of their outrageous 35 shots from the line. The turnover and free throw discrepancy make it almost hard to believe that the final deficit was only 18. The Lady Warriors did score 17 in the third quarter and cut it to nine, but could not manage enough stops on defense to cut into the lead much more. Jasmin Barker led the way with 17 points and 8 rebounds. Demetria Maynard added 11 points, and Alexia Hall pitched in 8 points and 5 assists in limited action. The team will end its short homestand on Monday with a rescheduled game with East Chicago Central.
